Assistant News Director & Executive Producer
Job Schedule: Full-Time
Job Location: San Francisco, CA, US
Assists Director in all phases of the management of the News and Programming Department, with an emphasis on supervision and direction of Afternoon Drive daypart, with an emphasis on breaking news. Manages/plans editorial content for Morning Drive daypart.
Assists in the supervision of news anchors, editors, writers, and production assistants; planning for coverage of scheduled and breaking news stories, special events, news series and documentaries; hiring and training. Conducts regular review and aircheck sessions of all on air talent. Conducts regular training sessions with all Editors, producers, writers and production assistants.
Oversees special events, including but not limited to live remotes, community events and station promotional activities and events. Manages fleet of news cars. Oversees station’s EAS system, alerts, training and execution.
College degree with a minimum of five years of experience in large or major market newsroom. A thorough knowledge of news operations. Experience in news management preferred
