All News 106.9 FM and 740 AM has a unique newsroom opening for a full time position as Editor/Producer. Job may include some on-air work but not guaranteed. This person should be a self-starter who can work collaboratively in the high-stress, deadline-oriented environment of a 24/7 newsroom.
As an editor, responsible for writing, selecting and editing stories for news broadcast; managing the flow of news and support material to news anchors; conducting recorded interviews with newsmakers; assigning reporters to developing news stories; taking in audio feeds and editing audio for broadcast.
As a reporter/anchor, responsible for writing, reporting and anchoring radio news; interviewing and producing both in studio and in the field; delivering commercial announcements.
Strongly prefer radio experience as a writer, editor or manager. Working knowledge of digital audio recording and editing equipment. Experienced with newsroom computer systems. Thorough knowledge of the Bay Area preferred.
5 years’ experience, a bachelor’s degree and a driver’s license required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, stand, sit, walk, use hands, reach with hands/ arms and manipulate a computer keyboard and ten-key machine. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Job requires a majority of the work day to be spent sitting and typing at computers.
