Description:
KYW Newsradio has an immediate opening for a Promotion Director. The right candidate will work directly with the Sales and Programming departments to provide support in the daily operation of KYW Newsradio.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Manage large scale station appearances and contests, including supervising promotions assistants, creating timelines, ensuring client needs are fulfilled and on-site contest rules are followed.

  • Also responsible for the overall look and feel of the event with the station’s brand in mind, as well as client and programming relations, including signage placement and location set-up.

  • Serve as the station liaison with event sponsors, station clients and listeners, projecting a positive image at all times.

  • Contest Administration – maintain all on-air, on-location and web based station contests including contest rules and records of winners. Collect prizes from sales, provide copy to production for on-air use, contact winners, and arrange for prize delivery and fulfillment.

  • Maintain all listener records and files, including an electronic database and contest winners.

  • Maintain station inventory of prizes and collateral materials.

  • Work with the sales and programming management for on-air station promotions and contests.

  • Work with the digital department for on-line station promotions and contests.

  • Secure copy from clients and event sponsors for on-air station promotional announcements, scripts, liners, and recorded promos.

  • Collect airchecks and screenshots and supervise Promotions Coordinator in creating recap reports for Sales and clients involved in station promotions.

  • Extend the KYW Newsradio brand to secondary materials, promotional pieces (key chains, shirts, etc.) and station banners.

  • Coordinate with business department for all invoices, purchase orders, and talent payments for marketing department.

  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of invoices and purchase orders.

Qualifications:

Requirements:  Fluent with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and use of the Internet and Social Media. Professional phone skills are necessary.  Must be able to work during normal business hours as well as nights and weekends as required. Previous radio promotions experience a plus. An understanding of business to business event, family-friendly event planning, client affiliations and on-site facilitation is required.  Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to drive station vehicles.  Education and experience required include:  3-5 years’ experience in similar role in media industry; 4 year marketing degree required.
