This leader is responsible for handling all content across Entercom Baltimore’s radio properties – with an emphasis on 105.7 the Fan, Mix 106.5 and Today’s 101.9.
The Senior Communications Specialist will strive to set the standard for compelling Sports, Lifestyle and Entertainment news in a competitive market, and bring creativity and innovation to the role each day.
In addition to writing, editing and distributing content across our many platforms, this person will work to achieve a high-level of cross-promotion between Web and radio, and work with Sales and Marketing on strategies and initiatives – like native advertising, video and podcasts -- to grow our digital footprint and increase revenue.
Create, write and edit compelling content and maximize its exposure through social media, syndication and other methods;
Aggressively seek opportunities for content-sharing across the market, understanding the unique audiences of each and applying that knowledge to make sound content decisions online and on social.
Work closely with Digital Sales Manager to better monetize content through existing and new ENTERCOM Baltimore assets.
Collaborate and coordinate with on-air talent and program directors to better integrate radio and Web and to increase interaction and engagement among listeners, Likes and followers;
Help develop and execute game-plans for covering major station events and special series to maximize exposure, Web traffic and engagement;
Assist Sales, Programming, and Promotions departments with cluster-wide graphic design needs;
Implement designs into each of our station webpages;
Enhance current branding of market, stations and events;
Consult, collaborate and brainstorm with sales team on big ideas and how to present them in a compelling proposal for the biggest impact;
Create marketing and promotional concepts that can be amplified through consumer touch points inherent to radio, including live events, in-store, online and broadcast;
Design compelling and visually appealing sales proposals and presentations for clients;
Interpret client needs and translate those needs into a tangible strategy;
Design sales assets (i.e. digital display advertising for clients);
Coordinate with the Director of Digital Content and Creative Services Manager to make sure visual design adheres to the requirements, objectives and timelines of both Entercom and the client;
Bring innovation and ways to leverage technology to improve and enhance story-telling techniques and methods.
- 5+ years writing/editing/content management experience;
- 3+ years of professional graphic design experience;
- Understanding of social media platforms and their relationship with consumers, online marketing and Web traffic;
- Thorough knowledge of current events, sports and pop-culture;
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment;
- Attention to detail with content, including grammar, punctuation and layout;
- Be a self-starter with the ability to work independently;
Manage junior designers and content writers as needed.
